About Sew It Goes

Sew It Goes is based in London, Ontario and founded by Riley and Ninwa, two passionate graduates of Fanshawe College’s Fashion Design program. Their journey is a story of diverse experiences, shared dedication to craftsmanship, and a love for small-batch manufacturing.

Meet Riley

Riley’s passion for sewing started during childhood summer trips to Rondeau Park, where a family friend, whom she considers her "adoptive grandmother," taught her the basics. Under her guidance, Riley sewed her first pillowcases and developed an appreciation for handmade creations. Even as a child, Riley’s entrepreneurial spirit shone through—whether it was setting up lemonade stands or crocheting and selling products to friends. It’s no surprise that her 8th-grade yearbook predicted she'd become a business owner and fashion designer.

After exploring various career paths—ranging from art school and hospitality to managing cafes and hairstyling—Riley eventually rediscovered her true passion for fashion design. She went on to manage a micro-manufacturing facility in London, Ontario, where she focused on remanufacturing donated materials into new products, diverting them from landfills. It was here that Riley met Ninwa, and their creative partnership began.

Meet Ninwa

Born in Syria and raised in a family deeply rooted in craftsmanship, Ninwa’s love for fashion blossomed at an early age. She spent countless hours sketching fashion designs, dressing up her Barbies and dolls in homemade outfits, and dreaming of creating her own clothing line. Creativity runs in her family - Ninwa would often sit beside their as they worked on old-fashioned foot pedal sewing machines. Watching their hands skillfully guide fabric under the needle sparked Ninwa’s passion for sewing.

At 20, Ninwa moved to London, Ontario, bringing her lifelong passion with her. She pursued formal training at Fanshawe College’s Fashion Design program, where her talent and love for sustainable design truly flourished. After graduating, Ninwa became the Production Floor Supervisor at a local upcycling facility, where she transformed discarded materials into one-of-a-kind products, all while promoting sustainability.

Our Mission

Sew It Goes is dedicated to high-quality craftsmanship, sustainability, and fostering a sense of community. Whether providing sewing classes or partnering with clients for small-batch production, Riley and Ninwa aim to create a space where creativity thrives and skills are shared.
