Ready to move beyond beginner sewing? This BeginnerĀ Level 2 course is designed to help you confidently read sewing patterns, properly prepare materials, and begin sewing a more complex project with clarity and intention.
This class bridges the gap between beginner sewing and independent at-home projects, giving you the foundational skills needed to follow patterns successfully from start to finish.

š§µ Week 1: Pattern Reading & Material Prep
- How to read and understand sewing patterns
- Compare indie/PDF patterns and Commercial patterns
- Sizing, symbols, markings, and construction order
- Preparing fabric for sewing
āļø Week 2: Cutting & Organization
- Cutting layouts
- Marking pattern pieces
- Bundling and organizing materials for efficient sewing
šÆ Week 3: Begin Sewing Your Project
- Start assembling your chosen project
- Learn proper construction flow
- Instructor-guided troubleshooting
š Week 4: Complete Your Sewing Project
- Finish construction
- Final details and finishing techniques
- Build confidence working independently
Ā Choose Your Project
Students will vote on the class project on the first day. The selected project will be completed by the entire group.
Note: Project options may change depending on season, material availability, or group preference.

š„ Who Can Join?
This class is best suited for:
- Adults and older teens
- Students who have completed a beginner sewing course or
- Sewists who can confidently thread a machine and sew a straight stitch
Age Requirement: Participants must be 14 years or older. Younger students may attend if accompanied by a parent or guardian who is also enrolled.
Most participants are adults, and the class structure reflects an adult learning environment. For younger sewing enthusiasts, we offer private sewing lessons and Semi-regularly host kid-friendly workshops that may be a better fit.
Missed Classes & Makeup Policy
We understand that life happens. Makeup sessions are not included in your course package, However, you can makeup missed time in our Membership nights (Saturday or Sunday evenings).
If youād like the option for additional sewing time and assistance we encourage you to explore our Sewing Club membership for extended studio access.

Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellations & Refunds
š§¾ Cancellation & Refund Policy ā Sewing Classes
We understand that plans can change. However, due to limited class sizes and advance preparation, the following cancellation policy applies to all sewing classes and courses.
Payment & Deposits
- Full payment is required at the time of registration.
- 50% of your total payment is considered a non-refundable deposit that secures your spot in the class.
- Once paid, the deposit is non-refundable under all circumstances.
Cancellations (Single Classes & Courses)
- 14 or more days before the start date:
You may cancel and receive a refund of any amount paid beyond the 50% deposit. Or transfer your session to another date.
Example: If paid in full, you will receive a 50% refund. - 7ā13 days before the start date:
No refunds are available. However, you may receive a credit for the remaining 50% (excluding the deposit) to be used toward a future class. - Less than 7 days before the start date:
No refunds or credits can be issued. Materials and preparation have already been allocated.
You may transfer your spot to a friend or family member at no additional cost.
Bundle & Multi-Week Enrollments
For multi-session or bundled registrations (e.g. 12-week programs), this policy applies per unstarted section.
The initial deposit remains non-refundable.
Missed Classes
- Refunds or credits cannot be offered for missed classes.
- If space allows, we will do our best to offer a make-up session or a discounted seat in a future class, but this is not guaranteed.
Need More Studio Time?
Need extra time to sew or practice between classes? Add a Sew It Goes Studio Membership for access to machines, tools, and workspace during open-studio hours. Perfect if you donāt have a home sewing setup or want extra studio time to experiment and perfect your designs.
Sewing Club Membership
For individuals seeking additional sewing hours for their courses or a fully equipped studio for their sewing needs.
